This competency applies to students who are required to respond to fire in the workplace (other than Evac pt) Covers first response only.
Content:
- Identify fire emergency and raise alarm
- Initiate basic fire response
- Notify responsible authorities
- Undertake safe evacuation

Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate a workplace incident and written or oral questions as appropriate.

Classroom theory via PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material and practical activities that simulate workplace incidents relating to fire.
