Designed for:
Students who normally operate or are based permanently on an onshore or offshore installation or facility and lead an emergency response team.

Description:
This unit of competency applies to a student required to lead and coordinate an emergency team, including deployment of resources at the scene of an emergency.
Students undertaking this unit of competency would be normally nominated to assume the responsibility of emergency team leader.
Content:
- Assess the nature and extent of the emergency
- Effect rescue of personnel at risk
- Confine the spread of emergency
- Prepare a team for a workplace emergency
- Coordinate a team response to control a workplace emergency
- Communicate with and coordinate personnel
- Lead a team in recovery activities resulting from an incident

Pre-entry Requirements:
Protector Alsafe Training & Services recommends that students prior to this training be qualified in:
PUAFIR207B Operate Breathing Apparatus Open Circuit or
MSAPMOHS216A Operate breathing apparatus.

Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate a workplace incident and written or oral questions as appropriate.
Delivery Method:
Classroom theory via PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material and practical activities that simulate workplace incidents relating to fire.
